NEWS - MAKUBEKEN

Makubekèn is an old Papiamento word and it means announcement in English. In the old days before post, radio and newspapers people would walk long distance to go from house to house to tell news. The message received was called a ‘makubekèn’. The communication campaign ‘Nos ta biba di Naturalesa’ will publish a paper every quarter. The paper will be delivered door to door just like in the old days and it will have articles and news about the nature and environment. The articles will be in Papiamento and Dutch. These two languages were chosen since they are the languages more widely understood on island.
